Marbella University

Why live and study in Marbella?

Marbella University has good answers to that:

“To study in Marbella is to absorb a truly international environment, free from pollution where it is safe and secure. Equally important there is easy and cheap access to the culturally rich cities of Granada, Seville and Cadiz.

Marbella quality of life

To Marbella’s quality of life can be added a unique lifestyle experience considered by many to be Elysian. It is doubtful if anywhere else on earth is so complementary to the perfect education and graduation.

International environment

Studying in Marbella means living in an international environment with residents from all over the world, free from pollution and only a stone’s throw away from amazing world renowned cultural opportunities.”

Marbella Friday morning in January

Marbella is using the low season to prepare for the visitors

Up to 20 workers are right now making sure that the visitors this summer will have a better experience when walking along the beaches of Marbella.

Although it is cold and it has been raining the past few days, the workers are making a concentrated effort on the new promenade, and it is lovely that the Town Hall has decided to do this work off season.

Rain in Spain

Living in Spain – with the rain…

During this first week of this new decade, we are seeing, like most of the UK, very abnormal weather. One minute we have beautiful sunny blue skies with a nice temperature for January, the next minute we are experiencing horrendous rain, thunder and lightening storms.

Certainly the forecast for UK doesn’t look good for the next few weeks however our weather should be very short lived.

Beach on The New Golden Mile
The New Golden Mile is the area between San Pedro and Estepona. Consisting of purpose built developments, commercial areas, equestrian centres, beaches with beach clubs (including the exclusive Laguna Village & Puro Beach Club) and everything else you could possibly need to enjoy your life on Costa del Sol, whether you will be living here or just holidaying here.

Properties in Benavista and El Paraiso on The New Golden Mile

Areas such as Benavista/El Paraiso are both very popular for families for residential living and for holiday homes. Both areas are next to each other and offer various properties from apartments starting at €200,000 up to villas for €3,000,000+.
Paraiso is particularly renowned for luxurious villas offering spectacular golf and sea views. Hotel Paraiso offers spectacular views across the valley and offers residents the use of their amenities.  A fairly green area due to the golf courses and many pine-tree protected areas.
Benavista offers a large commercial area with chemist, banks, 3 supermarkets and 20 bars/restaurants. The beach, from lower Benavista and Paraiso, is approx 15mins walk.

El Presidente

Benamara and Paraiso Baja on The New Golden Mile

Across the road (N340) are the areas of Benamara and Paraiso Baja (officially called Paraiso Barronal).  Again these are very popular with residents and holiday homes due to the excellent sandy beaches and local amenities.
There are a number of front-line beach luxury villas making this area very exclusive. Two of the most popular urbanisations in this area are El Presidente offering apartments in a community made up by half holiday home owners and half permanent residents and Venalmar which is a private small beachfront development consisting of townhouses and apartments, again very residential in an upmarket location.

Atalaya – Golf on The New Golden Mile – Atalaya has golf and beaches

Adjacent to these areas on the eastern side, on both sides of the N340 is Atalaya. Also known for the high level of residents, offering both apartment complexes and villas. Atalaya has a popular golf course (Atalaya Golf & Country Club) and the hotel nearby offers various facilities. Atalaya Baja has a natural beach offering a number of beach bars/cafes (Chiringuitos) as well as two hotels offering year round facilities including Scuba Diving.
Most developments/urbanisations in these areas are gated, offering privacy and security. All these areas are located less than 5 minutes to the popular town of San Pedro, 10 minutes to Puerto Banus and 15 minutes to Marbella and Estepona. A perfect location for both permanent living and for holidays.

Bel Air and Cancelada

Travelling towards Estepona by just a couple of kilometres is the area known as Bel Air/Cancelada. Within this small area, there are quite a number of purpose built developments, mostly for the rental & holiday home market.
These communities are gated offering security for families, many benefiting from tropical gardens with amenities which you would expect to enjoy on holiday. Most of these urbanisations have been built fairly recently to a high standard – Retiro de Bel Air being one of the best in this area.

Los Flamingos – Luxury on The New Golden Mile: Hotel Ritz-Carlton Villa Padierna

Hotel Ritz-Carlton Villa PadiernaTravelling just a couple of kilometres from Cancelada is the famous and luxurious private estate of Los Flamingos.
This is an exclusive, gated estate built around three Golf Courses and the Hotel Ritz-Carlton Villa Padierna. All the developments in this estate are gated with 24hour security and benefit from the elevation offering spectacular views across the golf courses to the sea.
Further towards Estepona, although still within the New Golden Mile area, is the well established urbanisation of Park Beach.
This is a beachfront development offering a number of apartments and townhouses. In front of this development are a number of large beachfront villas. Within walking distance of this urbanisation is the very well known beach bar/restaurant “Heaven”.

Guadalmina is one of the most exclusive coastal areas in the Southern Spain

Located on the border of San Pedro and is the exclusive area of Guadalmina. Known as one of the most “upmarket” areas on the Costa del Sol, it has long been an established residential area which has a very popular golf course and has become increasingly popular recently with holidaymakers.
It is popular with families due to its proximity to some of the best international schools on the coast and suits those who want to live in a residential area which is within a short driving distance of high street stores etc.
It is a self sufficient area with a commercial centre “Centro Plaza” which houses a supermarket, restaurants, cafes and a doctor’s surgery.

San Pedro is the charming town on The New Golden Mile

San Pedro

San Pedro still remains a typical Spanish town however is growing in popularity with international clients who want to enjoy the Spanish lifestyle, either for residential living or for holidays.
The town centre offers everything you need in its tree-lined shopping streets and avenues whilst the ever popular promenade on the beach walks you past a huge variety of beach bars/restaurants (Chiringuitos).
Some of the coast’s best schools are located in this town (both private and state schools) offering families the knowledge that they can obtain the best education for their children.

Nueva Andalucia has both luxury villas and apartment complexes

Nueva Andalucia is a well established area; just a stones throw from Puerto Banus. With many apartment complexes and luxurious villas tucked away in side avenues that you wouldn’t expect apart from those overlooking the famous Golf Valley, consisting of three very popular Golf Courses, Aloha, Las Brisas and Los Naranjos Golf Club. It is an area ideal for those who prefer not to take a car and prefer to be within walking distance to shops, supermarkets and local services. This area is particularly popular with the younger generation during the summer months due to the local nightlife scene and the proximity to the never-ending partying in Puerto Banus.
