Lovely views from San Juan de Capistrano
The urbanisation “San Juan de Capistrano” is located just out of Nerja on a hill side facing the sea. This combination of tranquillity, lovely views and still close to the town makes a perfect holiday home in Spain.
Most visitors only know Nerja for it’s amazing Balcón de Europa or the busy beach “Burriana Beach”, but San Juan de Capistrano is a hidden gem and worth looking for.
The sun is still shining in Spain
The property boom in 2002 to 2008 were fuelled mainly by retired north Europeans who bought up new-built second houses in places such as Valencia and Murcia, says political scientist Julio Embid, of think-tank Fundación Alternativas.
Real estate prices have now fallen some 30% to 50% from their highs, leaving Spain’s banks, or cajas with housing stock on their books whose current value is much lower than the original.
Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of houses built during the boom remain unsold, and people wanting to buy may find it difficult to get credit.
Embid also points to the cajas’ politically-driven executive appointments as a contributing factor to the crisis. “Many senior bankers were low-profile regional politicians or majors, without any financial experience or bank background,” he said.

The mayor of Marbella
San Pedro has been hit hard by the construction work on the new tunnel, due to be completed in late May 2012
Several years of construction work in the town centre of San Pedro has taken it’s toll on local businesses. Many have had to close or at least reduce the amount of people and activities.
San Pedro is no longer just a small cosy pueblo out side of Marbella. Today San Pedro has many residencial develeopments, and they do not appear to be empty.
The tunnel has been under constructions for many years, so it is difficult to imagine how it will be when it opens later this month, according to the mayor of Marbella

“Buena Vista” means lovely views, and that is exactly what it is. Set on the mountain side but sheltered from the winds by a small hill top.
The urbanisation both has lovely sea views and lovely views inside the urbanisation as the trees and bushes are very well kept.
